A skilled patent attorney, Alberto regularly prepares and prosecutes U.S., Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and foreign patent applications involving various complex technologies, including big data, blockchain and digital currency, virtual reality and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, consumer electronic devices, imaging/printing equipment, touch sensitive interfaces, thermal technologies and medical devices. He also is experienced in patent licensing, conducting IP due diligence for corporate transactions, performing comprehensive technical investigations for patent assertions and providing litigation support. Alberto’s engineering background includes developing computer models of complex systems to predict instabilities and verify system performance in the big data and energy industries, as well as experience designing circuitry for communications systems in the defense industry. He is also an experienced biomedical researcher with several publications in medical journals, which enhances his counsel on patent prosecution matters in the biotechnology and medical device industries. Alberto earned a master’s degree in biomedical engineering, and he was awarded a VIGRE fellowship in applied mathematics. He also earned his B.S., with honors, in electrical engineering and a minor in biomedical engineering from UCLA, where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi.
