HANIYYAH SHARPE-BROWN is a driven leader. She is a creative thinker and innovative in her approach to create collaborative opportunities for others and most importantly, can motivate people around her to turn their ideas into reality.
With a B.A. in Journalism from Temple University, she brings over ten years of extensive experience (locally, regionally and nationally) in the communications field with a special focus on PR, social media campaigns, community & government relations and strategic planning. She is invested in telling the stories of local nonprofits and small businesses through her passion projects as the founder and Principal of On Point Communications, LLC.
In 2019, Philadelphia Magazine named Haniyyah as one of 38 Philadelphians who represent the "New Philly Power," individuals who are "changing the city by proving that power is about creating urgency and getting people to believe in something." She was also named one of 54 "Connectors and Keepers" by LEADERSHIP Philadelphia; 2017 Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists Media Professional of the Year; 2016 Woman of Destiny; Femme & Fortune's 30 Under 30 Philadelphia’s Most Inspiring Women; Influencing Action Movement's "Woman Born to Make History and recipient of the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalsits President's Award.
Haniyyah serves on the board of Cancer WHO?, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide emotional, mental, and financial support to cancer patients during current and post cancer treatment, PA Cares Mentoring Movement, an arm of the national CARES mentoring movement spearheaded by Susan L. Taylor and Banksgiving, a non-profit that helps kids better understand personal and business economics. She regularly volunteers for Comcast Cares Day and Wells Fargo Day of Service.
